What is Epoch Batteries?
Epoch Batteries is a veteran-owned American company headquartered in Marietta, Georgia, with engineering and operational bases in Georgia and San Juan, Puerto Rico. They manufacture high-performance Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) deep-cycle and dual-purpose batteries designed for mobile power, marine applications, off-grid storage, and light electric vehicles. Order fulfillment is handled quickly across three U.S. distribution centers located in Georgia and California.
When you replace outdated lead-acid or AGM batteries with explore Epoch Batteries, you instantly upgrade your entire power infrastructure. Epoch offers voltage configurations across 12V, 24V, 36V, 48V, and 72V, spanning specialized series like the Elite, Essential, Eco, GC2, Big Box, and Pro Series. These power systems deliver twice the usable capacity, charge 2.3 times faster, and weigh approximately half as much as equivalent lead-acid setups, giving you consistent energy without excess weight or tedious maintenance.
Key Benefits of Upgrading to Epoch LiFePO4
Switching to Epoch LiFePO4 technology transforms how you store and consume energy on the go or off the grid. Here are the core advantages that make these power banks a superior long-term investment:
- Drastic Weight Reduction: Cutting your battery bank weight in half improves fuel efficiency in towing vehicles, increases boat speeds, and makes installation significantly easier. For instance, the 12V 300Ah Essential battery provides an incredible amount of energy while weighing only 58 pounds.
- Ultra-Fast Charging Capability: Epoch batteries charge roughly 2.3 times faster than traditional AGM or lead-acid models. Instead of waiting up to 8 hours on shore power, you can reach full capacity in as little as 3.5 hours.
- Maintenance-Free Operation: Say goodbye to checking fluid levels, topping off battery acid, or running equalizing charges. Epoch units are completely sealed and maintenance-free.
- Long-Lasting Design Life: Built with a 15+ year design life, these batteries supply thousands of deep discharge cycles—up to 10 times the cycle life of traditional options—without experiencing annoying voltage sag.
- All-Weather Dependability: Built-in automatic heaters ensure that cold temperatures never halt your power generation, keeping internal cells protected when charging in sub-freezing weather.
How Epoch Batteries Helps at Work
Professional operators and trade specialists rely on Epoch Batteries to power demanding equipment during crucial work scenarios.
Professional Tournament Anglers
In competitive bass fishing tournaments, every minute matters. Pro anglers running high-draw 24V or 36V trolling motor setups need steady thrust to fight strong currents and stay on target. Epoch provides non-stop energy to trolling motors, livewells, and complex multi-display fish finders throughout long competition days without voltage drop or circuit trips.
Marine & RV Electrical Installers
Custom riggers and system designers rely on Epoch’s seamless compatibility with industry standards. When building 48V or 12V off-grid power hubs, installers appreciate native Victron Energy CAN communication bus integration running at 500 kbit/s. This allows full synchronization with Victron Cerbo GX devices, MultiPlus inverter-chargers, Lynx Distributors, and Orion-Tr Smart DC-DC chargers using heavy-duty cabling. You can confidently upgrade to Epoch Batteries knowing your custom electrical system will integrate effortlessly.
Fleet & Facility Managers
For managers overseeing golf courses, resorts, or commercial facilities, maintenance downtime translates directly into lost revenue. Upgrading commercial utility and golf cart fleets to Epoch 48V or 72V lithium drop-in kits eliminates acid spill hazards, protects turf, and keeps vehicles operational with minimal recharge turnaround time.
Everyday Uses
Whether you are preparing for a remote camping trip or cruising your neighborhood, Epoch Batteries enhances your daily recreational adventures.
RV, Camper Van, and Off-Grid Boondocking
Imagine spending 10 full days boondocking off-grid without needing to crank up a loud generator or search for shore power. Epoch’s 12V 300Ah and 460Ah batteries tuck neatly under RV slide-outs or inside storage bays. They deliver stable energy to run air conditioning units, induction cooktops, residential refrigerators, and LED lighting effortlessly.
Recreational Boating and Sport Fishing
Saltwater and freshwater boaters need equipment that withstands moisture and vibration. Epoch’s marine line features IP67 waterproof and submersible enclosures, safeguarding internal electronics while powering radar arrays, stereo systems, bilge pumps, and anchor winches.
Neighborhood and Utility Golf Carts
Retrofitting your Club Car, EZ-GO, or Yamaha golf cart with a 48V or 70.4V (72V) 105Ah Epoch kit delivers instant performance boosts. Enjoy snappier acceleration up steep hills and extended travel range across the neighborhood or golf course.
Off-Grid Cabins and Home Backup
Pairing Epoch batteries with residential or cabin solar panel arrays gives you reliable energy storage. Store excess daytime solar production to power your lights, refrigeration, and electronics continuously throughout the night or during power outages.
Standout Features That Set Epoch Apart
Epoch designs its hardware to excel under tough real-world conditions. Several key technical innovations set these batteries apart:
Advanced Battery Management System (BMS)
Every battery includes a custom-engineered BMS providing over 20 internal safety protections. The system continuously guards against overcharging, deep discharge, overcurrent, short circuits, and extreme temperature swings. Select UL Listed models provide certified peace of mind for home and commercial installations.
Smart Internal Heating System
Cold weather can freeze standard lithium charging. Epoch solves this with internal heaters (such as 180.67W elements running on charger power). When ambient temperatures drop below 32°F (0°C), the battery pauses incoming charge and activates its internal heater until cells reach 41°F (5°C), ensuring safe, optimal charging.
Integrated Class T Fuses
Safety is paramount when handling massive power reserves. Models like the V2-T Elite Series feature an integrated internal Eaton Bussmann JJN-400 Class T fuse located right inside the heavy-duty enclosure to instantly suppress high fault currents directly at the terminal.
Epoch Cloud Mobile App
Stay completely informed about your power levels. The Epoch Cloud App (available for iOS and Android via Bluetooth) lets you monitor State of Charge (SoC), individual cell voltages, operating temperature, and real-time current draw right from your smartphone.
